Salt Forum 2023 takes place in Swakopmund

A spectacular week concluded earlier in November discussing salt supply and demand amid networking with the world’s leading players at IMFORMED’s Salt Forum 2023, Swakopmund, 6-9 November.

This was just our second Salt Forum following the inaugural event in Hamburg last year (see Salt market to grow as new sources & challenges face industry).

Yes, it was an adventurous setting, and a bit of a stretch to get there – but boy, was it worth it!

A superb panel of speakers covering salt market supply and demand in southern African, Senegal, Europe, APAC, Australia and India, complemented by talks on the global bulk freight market, salt as a critical mineral, and salt processing stimulated the 70 attendees drawn from across the global salt industry.

We were also grateful to be welcomed and addressed by Veston Malango, CEO, The Chamber of Mines of Namibia, and Bryan Eiseb, Executive Director, Ministry of Mines & Energy of Namibia.

Very special thanks to our lead sponsor Walvis Bay Salt for putting on such a wonderful desert dinner and field trip, plus WIRTGEN GROUP and RMB – Rand Merchant Bank.
