What a wonderful group of people who have given so much to the industrial mineral world. It was my pleasure to be acquainted with you all and to work together with many. I stumbled into your world in about 1972 when I picked up my first IM Magazine trying to understand esoteric materials such as nepheline syenite and diatomite. I then attended my first IM Conference in Madrid (1982?) and I was hooked and here we all are decades later still having fun. I think the key was that you all provided not just information for what could be an intellectually challenging subject but also friendship and companionship. it was like being welcomed into a club or a family.
