Overview

Mongolczechmetall LLC’s fluorspar operation at Chuluut Tsagaan Del is located approximately 22km north-east of the centre of Bayantsagaan soum (district), in Tuv province (173km south of Ulaanbaatar, about 2hrs 50min drive).

Mongolczechmetall is a privately owned national mining company that specialises in mining fluorspar from the Chuluut Tsagaan Del open pit mine and supplying high quality products to the global market.

The company has been leading fluorspar mining and export in Mongolia since 2018, and completed its new processing plant project in September 2023, holding an opening ceremony on 2 October 2023.

The Chuluut Tsagaan Del mine has been exploited since 1981, and has estimated reserves of 3.7m. tonnes with a grade of 43%, for a mine life of >20 years.

Mining carried out since 2013 has yielded 400,000 tonnes of ore with a grade of 30-35%.

Mongolczechmetall produces 25,000-30,000 tpa of metallurgical concentrate and exports more than 80,000 tpa of low grade ore to Russia and China.

Construction of the new processing plant started in 2020, which has a capacity to process 200,000 tpa of ore to produce 64,000 tpa of fluorite concentrate with a grade of >97% (acidspar). Acidspar exports were to commence in November 2023.

More than 280 people are working in the mine and concentrator in Chuluut Tsagaan Del.
